DOG HOUSE VIDEOS POLICIES AND INFORMATION EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1,2006 Store Hours Renting Movies To be able to rent movies you must set up a membership and will need a current drivers license or ID AND a credit card. An account must be current and have no late fees in order for a member to rent a movie. We reserve the right to check ID at time of rental. Adding Users to Your Account A family can sign up under one account however, the person initiating the account is the ONLY person who can add family members to the account and that person is responsible for any fees incurred by those on his account. We encourage existing members to update their accounts Rental Pricing and Due Times New Releases 3-Day and 7-Day - $3.50 Games - $6.50 for 5 days Second Night!! Return Policies Late Fees Late fees post to your account at the time of the return. Failure to Return If the account is being held by credit card, this will automatically be charged to the credit card on file. If we are unable to charge the credit card on file, we may leave the account open up to 30 days, late charges will continue to accrue, and the account will be then sent to a collection agency for payment. Please remember to keep account information such as phone number and address current. We do call members after 3 days to let you know that we have not received the item back and prior to charging and closing your account. Films may be returned 24 hours a day using the return slots located on each side of the store. Rent 10 - Get The 11th Rental Free With our Dog House punch card you can rent 10 VHS or DVD films of any price and get your 11th rental free! Reservations With a Club Card Membership (see below) you may reserve films up to seven days in advance. We hold reservations until 6PM; any reservation not retrieved by this time is put back in circulation. You may call should you need a movie to be held after 6PM. Club Card Membership A Club Card Membership is $35/year ($30 to renew). You receive one free movie a month and one free movie on your birthday and a10% discount on movie purchases. You also are allowed to reserve films up to seven days in advance. Reservations are made on a first come first serve basis and we cannot guarantee movie availability. Special Orders If a title is in print, we can order a new copy for you to own. Ratings and Children Dog House Videos will not rent or sell movies or games designated as restricted "R" or "M", to persons under the age of 17 without parental consent. Widescreen vs. Full-frame Many films are available in a widescreen (letterboxed) format, which preserves the original "aspect ratio" of the film as one would see it in a theater. The black bars above and below the image are normal for this format. You do not need a special TV to watch letterboxed films. Films using the full-frame format (the majority of VHS), have the sides of the picture CROPPED so that the image fills your TV screen. It may appear you are seeing more of the film in full-frame, since the image is bigger, BUT YOU ACTUALLY SEE UP TO 50% LESS! Care and Playing of DVD's Please help take care of DVD's by remembering to hold by the edges, clean from the inside out and whenever it isn't being played keep it in its case. Not all DVD's or DVD players are created equal. If you rent or play DVD's and CD's it is important that you keep your player clean and take care of the DVDs. Many of the DVD's that are returned as "unplayable" play fine for others and it is must a matter of cleaner the player. There are inexpensive cleaners that do an excellent job of cleaning DVD players. We carry one in the store but can recommend others if you want to shop around. Restoring DVD's and CD's We polish/buff your favorite CD's and DVD's for $4/disc. Turn around time is usually 48 hours. See Tom! |
